Re-grout the walls inside the shower using an anti-fungal commercial grade hydrophobic formula which makes the grout water repellent and reduces the effects of efflorescence while also ensuring grout colour consistency.

Using an antifungal grade Hydrophobic  formula, we fix leaky showers by re-grouting the walls inside the shower. This makes the grout water repellent, and reduces the effects of efflorescence, while also ensuring grout colour consistency.

WHEN TO CALL FOR A LEAKING SHOWER REPAIR PROVIDER

Although showers or shower baths may leak for a number of reasons, by far the most common cause of shower seal leakage is building movement:

  • As a building settles into its foundations
  • As a building moves naturally with hot and cold weather

Although a shower leak fix may be needed for a number of reasons, by far the most common cause of a leaky shower is building movement:

  • As a building settles into its foundations
  • As a building moves naturally with hot and cold weather

This movement can result in weakening or cracking of grout, shower seal, tile and floor/wall junctions within the shower or bath. This eventually allows water to penetrate beneath the surface of the tiles.

This movement can result in a need for an overall bathroom repair – weakening or cracking of grout, shower seal, tile and floor/wall junctions within the shower or bath. This will require a shower tile repair, as it will eventually allow water to penetrate beneath the surface of the tiles.

Beneath the surface of the tiles there is usually some kind of waterproofing membrane designed to catch/stop water penetrating to surrounding areas. Unfortunately, these shower sealing membranes are also susceptible to building movement, poor installation and chemical breakdown with age. Once this membrane has been breached, water is free to penetrate into surrounding areas and cause damage.

These shower sealing membranes are also susceptible to building movement, poor installation and chemical breakdown with age. Once this membrane has been breached, water is free to penetrate into surrounding areas and cause damage, thus needing a leaky shower repair.

FAQs

What are the common signs that my shower is leaking?

You can tell that you’ll need a leaky shower fix based on these common signs:

  • Cracked, eroded, crumbling, or missing grout.
  • You see water stains, or water dripping from your ceiling.
  • If there is water pooling outside the shower area, or water emerging from the walls of the shower enclosure.
  • If water is visible in the rooms adjacent to the bathroom, which can be seen through stained or warped floorboards, or wet carpets.
  • Wall paint is bubbling, flaking, or showing mould? That can also be a sign of a leaky shower.
  • If you notice that portions of your grout are chipping off or are already discoloured, call immediately to check if necessary shower repairs are needed.
  • Another indication of a leaky shower are moisture buildup or readings from building or pest inspections.
  • Termite infestation indicates high moisture levels which can also be a sign of a leaky shower.

Even if there is no obvious leak but you’ve noticed these signs, then it’s time to call for an immediate bathroom leakage repair provider.

How can I tell where my shower leak is coming from?

There are a few ways for you to determine where the issue of your leaky shower may be coming from:

  • Turn on your shower and spray water within the shower enclosure. If there is water seeping outside and your curtain or glass enclosure does not have any gaps, you may need a shower screen repairs or shower screens replacement service.
  • A shower tile repair is necessary if there is any breakage on the tiles or the grout on the shower walls.
  • Let your water flow on your shower area for a time, then let it drain. Check your shower floor in a few hours. If there are noticeable wet areas or the water has not drained completely as expected, it’s time to call for a shower base repair.

If you think that a leak may be from elsewhere but cannot detect where it is coming from, we recommend calling an expert leaking shower repair technician to help you out.

Why does my bathroom shower leak?

There can be a number of reasons why you may experience a leaky shower. It can be caused by:

  • Building movement resulting in a leaky shower because of extremely hot or cold weather.
  • Weakening or cracking of grout and floor/wall junctions, which will need an immediate shower base repair.
  • Sealing of waterproofing membrane have fallen apart due to age, or issues with installation, and will have to undergo (massive) shower repairs.

How to repair a leaking shower?
  • Before going through the process of a leaking shower repair, it’s important to find out first where the leak is coming from, for us to determine what shower leak fix is needed.
  • Once the source of the leak is confirmed, the next step is to keep the area dry for 24 hours or more before any repairs can be started.
  • Any existing sealant and tile or wall grout must be removed to get to the source of the leak. Afterwards, the area must be cleaned of any excess dirt and dust.
  • A specialised sealant will be applied to do the shower base repair, which will penetrate through the grout and the surrounding areas where the leak is coming from. Other adjoining walls and tile areas will also be applied with a specially designed sealant to make sure that the leak will not recur.
  • Once the leaking shower repair is completed, the area must be thoroughly cleaned before use.

The whole process of a leaking shower repair can be demanding – from figuring out what is causing the leak, to making sure that there are no other sources from which a leaky shower can still come out of. We recommend that you seek the help of an expert to determine the source of that leaky shower. Get a free quote today so you can sit back and let our skilled technicians do the work for you.

How do you fix your leaking shower without removing the tiles?

The DiamoSmart® System is engineered to be quicker, cleaner, and cheaper than other leaking shower repair processes. Here’s what we do to restore leaky showers back to its original quality:

– Remove any deteriorated sealants such as silicon

– Strip the existing grout off the walls

– Strip out any damaged grout from the floor area

– Strip out grout from around the drain

– Prepare floor and wall junctions using our DiamoSmart® system. This system uses a diamond-tipped blade that removes the sheen from the tile edge creating a small gully in wall and floor junctions

– Inject our SealRight sealant into the gully so it bonds the wall junctions and the floor, preventing wall and floor separation

– Re-grout walls and floor using commercial grade mould retardant grout

– Apply silicone to the internal areas of the shower screen

– Coat the internal shower area with our hydro barrier sealant creating an invisible glove to prevent water penetration. This sealant is painted or sprayed on the wall and floor tiles, forming a waterproof barrier beneath the surface of the grout. This soaks in and seals anything that is porous, such as grout lines and hairline cracks

Avoid breaking down your leaky shower and rebuilding it from scratch. Our DiamoSmart® system ensures that a leaking shower repair can be done by our specialised sealants that penetrate through the tile and grout surface. This secures cracks and waste pipes for the perfect shower leak fix.

Our DiamoSmart® System can fix your leaky shower and save you from all the trouble of removing tiles and retiling your bathroom floor. This process helps the strata industry, real estate agents, hotels, plumbers, builders, and homeowners. We help you save thousands of dollars in lost rent, revenue, and unnecessary tiling repairs without the inconvenience of waiting and without compromising quality.
